Shoshan shot Home, a sort of photographic diary, on his first trips back to Israel after settling in France. Thus, the series takes on the gaze of someone returning, who loves the landscapes and those who live in them, but who can’t help but feel out of step on coming home. Alongside this new way of looking came the choice of a dark light and a new moment: nighttime.

Home lays the foundations for the social engagement of Shoshan’s later work: the consequences of violence and its impact on everyday life are themes that can already be seen in this testimony of the life of a young Israeli artist who, his perception altered by physical and mental distance, now feels a foreigner in his own country.
